Kombucha is fermented tea thought to have originated two thousand years ago. When properly brewed it is a delicious, slightly fizzy and refreshing soft drink that is low in sugar and naturally contains probiotics and healthy organic acids.
Kombucha is made of four simple ingredients: tea, water, sugar and a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast). During fermentation, the yeasts consume the sugar and produce alcohol, then the bacteria consume this alcohol to produce the acids that give kombucha its sour flavour and contribute to its health benefits.
Our mission is to produce the tastiest and highest quality kombucha. To achieve this we use only the finest organic ingredients and brew the old-fashioned way. This means our kombucha is fermented 100% in glass to prevent plastic or metal leaching, in super-small 8L batches to ensure the best taste and is always naturally carbonated.
It can take up to 30 days to produce one bottle of MOMO Kombucha. We never hasten this natural process and are proud to brew the old-fashioned way.
