Often the most inspired ideas are the result of an uninspiring situation - in this case a massive viticultural disaster. After a dry winter, three quarters of the vines were decimated, leaving only a tiny amount of fruit from the block. With such a small volume, winemaker Evan Lewandowski made the decision to experiment with a red and white co-fermentation so that he might fashion a wine that was bright, lively, funky and fresh, reminiscent of continental reds (Savoie, Jura etc) that go down all too easy...

This iconic light red/rose wine has aromas of raspberries, with earthy characteristics on the palate, all with great tannins and minerality, and is all too easy to demolish.
