We've had the pleasure of working with Left Handed Giant for many years now. In the very early stages of All Good Beer, we would spend out weekend tripping around the country trying all the new places and attending all the events. The first time we visited Left Handed Giant was during the Bristol Ale Trail (now known as the East Bristol Brewery Trial). It was a mapped brewery crawl between Left Handed Giant, Moor Brewing, Good Chemistry and Arbor. We'd highly recommend it if you haven't done it before its a great weekend out and a great way to visit all the Bristol beer talent.
We knew Bruce, Jack & Rich from previous jobs in the beer industry and as always they were super friendly. Although it wasn't until a few years later when Rich and Libby bonded over some cheeseburgers - more about that another time.
After such a fun trip to Falmouth for the Verdant Little Summer Beer Bash & having enjoyed the beer scene in Bristol so much in 2017 we decided we were going to the Left Handed Giant Little Summer Beer Bash.
The LHG Little Summer Beer Bash did not disappoint either, it rained the whole day! But the beer was incredible, we had a few firsts that night. The First Mills Brewing beer we tried but also the first Black Angus Barrel Aged Stout from Left Handed Giant - this decadent, luxuriously stout was just so self-indulgent like drinking a coffee chocolate cake dipped port barrels.
Fast forward a few years and we now have our on bar in Hackney Downs so it's our turn to host Left Handed Giant. Friday the 13th of March 2020 was the big day, the kegs for the tap takeover had landed and everything else was ready to go. Sadly, the Left Handed Giant crew didn't actually make it out to the event because of the old C19.... 10 days later the whole country was locked down.
We still feel that we have unfinished business with our friends at Left Handed Giant. So much so, we are chuffed to announce that we've invited them back for our first post-Covid event!
Starting on Thursday 30th of September, the team from Left Handed Giant will be attending. We'll have 6 taps including a special dark beer, we'll have LHG swag as well as a loads of cans for sale.
Check out the Facebook event here.
Don't worry if you can't make it down you can buy their beers to enjoy at home. Browse all the Left Handed Giant beers.
